Microtox Continuos Toxicity Monitoring (CTM)

Biosensor tests using bioluminescent bacteria have been in use for 30 years and their capability in detecting toxic substances is well understood. They make use of a strain of bacteria that emits light when healthy, and when exposed to toxic substances, the amount of light emitted reduces.

  • Vibrio fischeri – bioluminescent bacteria as test organism
  • Bacteria emit light when healthy
  • 24/7 on-line monitoring
  • Fast response – 5 minutes delay

MicroTrace OVA7100: On-Line Metal Monitor

The MicroTrace™ OVA7100 and OVA7100 Dual Cell are fully automated on-line metal monitors to provide continuous or intermittent monitoring of metals in process streams, effluent discharges, river and potable water. The OVA7100 and OVA7100 Dual Cell utilise internationally recognised voltammetry (ASV and CSV) technology, which provides quick and accurate determination of metals at the micrograms per litre (ppb) level, directly comparable with laboratory analysis using AAS or ICP.

  • 24/7 on-line monitoring
  • Real-time results
  • Can be configured to monitor 23 different metals (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, Se, TI, Zn, Fe, Mn, Sb, Ag, Au, Bi, Co, In, Mo, Pd, Sn, Te, U)
  • Concurrent measurement of up to 10 metals in the same instrument
  • Voltammetry-based
  • Low detection limits (ppb)

Microtox® LX

Microtox® LX rapid toxicity detection is an in vitro test system that uses bioluminescent bacteria for the detection of toxicity in water and is used as a screening system to detect the relative toxicity of a sample. Applications include the testing of samples containing biological toxins, industrial effluent, industrial process waters, municipal effluent, drinking water, ecotoxicological samples, hazardous waste, soil, sediments, storm water and medical products for bio reactivity.

Microtox® FX

The Microtox® FX instrument has a combined detection capability that provides a very sensitive and rapid test to detect two of the most probable classes of agents, pathogens and toxic chemicals that may accidently or intentionally contaminate drinking water or wastewater. Microtox® FX’s acute toxicity and ATP detection capabilities make it the ideal instrument for rapidly and accurately assessing if the quality of drinking water, from the source to the tap, has been affected by an incident.

MicroTrace™ PDV

Measuring trace metals in water, soil and food has always been a vital part of modern environmental monitoring. Voltammetry offers an internationally accepted alternative to laboratory analysis or automatic samplers. Modern Water’s MicroTrace™ PDV provides better on-site characterisation, with pollution hot spots and contamination sources more easily identified. MicroTrace™ PDV can be more cost-effective than laboratory analysis and it can be used “stand-alone” or on a computer with our powerful VAS software.
